RES Annual Family Dance

We were happy at the turn out again for our family dance. The final total raised was $955.05

OPEN HOUSE TONIGHT

OPEN HOUSE TONIGHT at 6 PM: Parents come out and see our new additions to the school. We have new modular classrooms and we have changed the rooms for the Kindergarten and the ESC program. While you are here, take the opportunity to meet with your children's teacher(s) and ask them some questions. We are keeping this to 1 hour (since our teachers have already put in a a long day). Also, take a few minutes to volunteer for some of the events we have planned for the school. See you there!

School Council Meeting

Last week there was an evening school council meeting and the bylaws were voted in. The school council is planning on holding three evening meetings this year so that working parents (yes dads too!) can attend!

Upcoming School Dance

Last year's dance was such a success, the School Council has decided to throw one again! The Cake Walk had huge support and we are hoping that it will again this year. We are hoping to have some idea of how many cakes to expect so please let Natalie Ball know at natnjeff@hotmail.com  if you are planning to bring a cake.

A Cake Walk is A Silent Auction of YOUR donated cakes (homemade or store bought) at the Dance which will raise money for helping the school. Funds raised will be used as prizes for the Accelerated Reading program instead of raffled off for classrooms like last year. 

Come as a family and have fun.

Evening School Council Meeting TONIGHT!

On Wednesday, October 8th at 7:00 pm we will be holding the first open Raymond Elementary School Council Meeting for the 2014-15 school year. The RES Council is the same thing as what used to be called the Parent Council. All parents of RES students are invited to this meeting. At this meeting we will:
- introduce the elected members of the RES Council for the 2014-15 school year
- vote on the new by-laws for the RES Council
- discuss the purposes of the Council and the role of parents in the Council
- provide information about the goals that the council has for the year
- hear from Mr. Hogg
- hear from Miss Jamie Jensen, the teacher representative on the Council
- have question and answer period

The goal is to keep the meeting to one hour in length.

Again, ALL parents of RES students are invited and encouraged to attend. To read the proposed by-laws please visit the School Council section of the RES website.

RES Parent Survey

The School Council created a quick survey for parents. The most important information we will collect in the survey is about how parents want to receive information from the school. We know it is not a perfect survey, but we are ask all parents to fill it out anyways!
